Hello Kindred Spirit,

If you’ve landed here on this website, then we probably have a lot in common—adventure, exploration, curiosity, and undenying love for humanity, while searching for the meaning of life. We see the beauty in the ordinary. We’re not satisfied with the status quo. We find comfort in discomfort. We’re always learning and always growing.

My life has been driven by this search for meaning and is what led to where I am today. I began my career as a mechanical designer in corporate America, working for some big-name companies, like Harley-Davidson. While that career gave me the means to travel the world and build a beautiful life, I was always yearning for something more.

Something deeper.

I wanted to live my life’s purpose but didn’t know what that would look like or how it would come to fruition. I just knew it was time to step out on my own.

Always creative at heart, I took a leap of faith and started a portrait photography business that expanded into a brand design company. Through a lot of trial and error, I learned that what I love most is to showcase the person behind the brand and to bring their vision to life in a digital world.

I love capturing images with depth while showcasing your true essence. Magic happens when it’s just you and I, in a safe space where you can let your guard down, take your masks off, and completely be you. You desire photographs that capture your heart and who you are at your core; and while I’m devoted to ensuring you get photos you love, your experience is what I value most.

I look forward to being your guide as we join together in unearthing who you are at the core, to share your message with the world through branding your business. When you get real and honest about what you stand for, you’ll attract ideal clients that you love to work with, who love working with you.

Lovingly,

Tina

BEHIND THE SCENES FUN FACTS

I’m unique (as each of us is) and often misunderstood, and I am very ok with it. For many, many years I wasn’t ok with it. I played the victim and felt sorry for myself when people didn’t ‘get me’.

I look at different viewpoints, I ask the hard questions, I crave variety, I challenge the status quo, and I’m always thinking outside the box. I seek out diversity because that’s where learning and growing take place. Be your unique self. Let your light shine. Share your gift with the world.

Get comfortable with being misunderstood, stay focused, and go for the gold.

It’s a superpower, really. I can easily see things from many different perspectives, I see patterns, and I can solve problems quickly. I’ve never let dyslexia slow me down; I forget I have it and just automatically double-check my work and switch words and numbers around as needed.

I love this about myself. It’s the thing I was most bullied for, and it’s my greatest strength. I study Quantum Physics as a hobby. The brain is fascinating. I love data, scientific research, and reading. When I was little, I would beg my parents to take me to the library each week, where I would quickly find at least a dozen books to bring home. And if I could make a living out of taking classes, I would.

It’s my highest value. I learn something new every single day. If I don’t know how to do something, I’ll figure it out. I’ve taken things apart to see how they work internally. I ask way too many questions. I’ll research a topic until I get to the root of it. I love to experience things — like feet on the ground, put myself in awkward situations, use all six senses kind of experience.

It isn’t enough for me to read about people and places. I want to meet people and go to places. I want to hear stories firsthand. I’ve smelled the smells that make New York gritty and unforgiving. I’ve tasted exotic foods in Japan. I’ve sat atop a Himalayan mountain. I’ve swum in the Aegean Sea. I’ve walked the Milford Track in New Zealand. The red soil of Tanzania has settled on my head and shoulders during a beautiful day of safari in the Serengeti. I’ve skipped rocks in Lake Victoria with Ugandan children. The list goes on.

I’ve lived life well. I will continue to live life to its fullest. And it starts with curiosity.

Lots of them. Every single day. First and foremost, I’m human, and I’m gonna make mistakes. Secondly, I try new things every day. When I learned to ski 37 years ago, my goal was to go the whole day without falling; I thought that was the thing to strive for. I thought that’s what made a person a good skier. Until someone said to me, “If you don’t fall, you’re not challenging yourself.” He’s right.

When you go through your days in the safety of your comfort zone to appear ‘perfect,’ you’re not challenging yourself. You may not make any mistakes because everything in your life has become automatic, but are you truly living? Are you challenging yourself? Don’t strive for perfection; instead, aim for a life well-lived. Embrace the mistakes, failures, and lessons learned along the way.

It’s efficient, and it’s functional: eff-unctional. New words are created daily.

Fun fact, more than 530 words were added to Webster’s Dictionary for September 2019. Vacay, sesh, coulrophobia, aphantasia, and fabulosity are officially part of the English language.

It’s taken me a long time to get here, but here I am. The first time I sat in front of a mirror, looked myself dead in the eyes, and said, “I love you.” I bawled. Like, tears streaming down my face gasping for air ugly cry. Try this technique for yourself and see what happens. It’s a game-changer.

Always have been and always will be. Some of my passions include: photography, writing, web design, set design, painting backdrops, and graphic design, to name a few. While this is more accepted now, back in the day, we were to pick one thing and do it for the rest of our lives, never veering off the path.

A creator’s nightmare!

High achievers are interested in many things and can keep several balls in the air at the same time. Case in point, Richard Branson has 400 companies in various fields. Chase Jarvis is a photographer, CEO of CreativeLive, App Designer, and author of a New York Times best-selling book Creative Calling.

Deep diving into one thing leads you to other things—and each thing sets you up for the next thing. Also, you will be required to learn more than one skill to do that one thing you’re passionate about. When I started my photography business I quickly learned that making photographs is a small percentage of my daily tasks. I learned how to design websites, marketing materials, and sets. I am a producer, director, photographer, editor, writer, and promoter of my work. And then I decided to share my knowledge which led me into teaching and coaching.

Look at the title of any successful person nowadays, and you’ll see at least three to ten designations listed. Put all of your heart into the things you love to do and run toward your goals.

TRAVEL & HUMANITARIAN

I BELIEVE WE ARE ONE. There is no such thing as race. At a biological level, we are all the same. I’ve traveled to more than 30 countries and the one thing that stands out to me the most is that at a fundamental level, we all require the same things to thrive, food, shelter, clothing, and love.

We may look different, we may have various rituals and celebrations, and we may belong to different religions or political parties, but at the core, we are all just humans beings living a human experience all together here on earth.

I’ve been changed by each person I’ve met throughout my travels, even if we were unable to communicate verbally—a person’s spirit, energy, and actions are often more potent than words.

Because I favor slow experiential travel, over fast-paced barely hit the surface type travel, I’ve had the honor of spending several minutes, hours, or even days with each person in these photos, getting to know him or her at a deeper level.

My heart is full, and I’m so very grateful that I have the means to travel and spend time with the extraordinarily beautiful and diverse people who populate this earth.
